Concerned about mental health during the pandemic? ‘Town Hall’ set for Dec. 17

There will be a county-wide “town hall” on mental health Thursday, Dec. 17 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. Put on by Mecklenburg County’s COVID-19 Renewal and Recovery Task Force, it will focus on the mental and emotional effects of the pandemic, how to manage the stress and anxiety associated with COVID-19, and how to access local mental health resources.

Expert panelists will answer questions and provide information that can be helpful to residents of all ages during these challenging times.

Panelists include:
—Gibbie Harris, Mecklenburg County Public Health Director
—Kathy Rogers, Executive Director of Mental Health America of Central Carolinas
—O’Neale Atkinson IV, LCSWA, Interim Executive Director of Time Out Youth

The town hall will be moderated by Dr. Gina Navarrete, neuropsychologist and member of the COVID-19 Task Force, and Dr. Aalece Pugh-Lilly, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services Division Director of Clinical and Contractual Services.
