May 17. When Kim Snyder of High Caliber Realtors attended the third annual Rhythm & Brews event at the Peninsula Club in March, a fundraiser for Pat’s Place Child Advocacy Center, she had no idea what a bidding frenzy she would start during the silent auction over a beer-paired dinner for ten provided by “Brew Chef” Tim Schafer, Cornelius Drafthouse and The Fresh Market.
“During the auction, the bidding got so crazy with many wanting the dinner for 10, that Chef Tim Schafer generously offered up a second dinner, doubling the impact for Pat’s Place,” said Snyder.
Snyder was the recipient of one of the dinner parties, which she held May 5 at the Cornelius Drafthouse. Schafer suggested that she turn the dinner for 10 into a party for more. The Cinco de Mayo event featured live music by Mike Alicke and a spectacular Mexican-inspired menu.
Pat’s Place is Mecklenburg County’s only child advocacy center serving children from birth to 18, providing a physical environment where a child’s well-being is the first priority, reducing trauma and promoting healing from sexual abuse. The Rhythm & Brews event raised more than $70,000 for Pat’s Place.
