Dec. 1. There are two more nights for Christmas in Davidson, one of the most popular holiday events in Lake Norman. It runs from 6 pm to 9 pm tonight and Saturday. There are holiday light shows, roving entertainers, a live nativity and live music, not to mention shopping in all the stores. Sadly enough, the carriage rides are not back this year.

Also on deck is the North Meck Holiday Parade starting in Davidson at 1 pm and running south on Main Street into downtown Cornelius where it ends roughly two hours later.

It’s a not-to-miss hometown tradition complete with horses, fire trucks and, bringing up the rear, an older gentleman in a bespoke red suit.

The National Weather Service is calling for showers both tonight and Saturday with temps in the 50s.

Both events take place rain or shine.
