Through July 25

The 39 Steps

Presented by the Davidson Community Players at Armour Street Theatre, 307 Armour St., Davidson. Tickets are $15-$20. Email boxoffice@davidsoncommunityplayers.org or call 704-892-7953. A man with a boring life meets a woman with a thick accent who says she’s a spy. When he takes her home, she is murdered. Soon, a mysterious organization called “The 39 Steps” is hot on the man’s trail in a nationwide manhunt that climaxes in a death-defying finale.  The best of Hitchcock with a handful of actors.

July 24: The Hooten Hallers perform at River Jams

Cool Off With a Cop

2-3 pm. Come out and join us for our Annual Cool Off With a Cop event! This event will be held at the Smithville Park Splash Pad.

Davidson Farmers Market

9 am -noon in downtown Davidson. This year’s 36 vendors include: fruits and vegetables, meat and dairy, freshly baked breads and artisanal baked goods, prepared foods, speciality culinary items, beverages, and health and beauty products.

ASC Culture Blocks

Virtually Yours! Summer Edition: Ballet Workshop/Demonstration. Four gifted young ballet dancers join Martha in her private studio for a demonstration of classical ballet technique and solo variations from well-known ballets. Pack the Patrol Car 

The Cornelius Police Department we will be accepting donations of school supplies starting Monday, July 26, for its Annual Pack the Patrol Car. Donations can be brought to the Cornelius Police Department and left in the box  in the breezeway of the Police Department lobby.  Please  bring the supplies by during Monday – Friday from 8 am until 5 pm.

School supplies will be donated to Cornelius Elementary, J. V. Washam Elementary, Bailey Middle School and W. A. Hough High School. Have any questions? Call  704-892-1363 and ask to speak with our Support Services Division.

7 pm.  Free Reign Theatre and Historic Rural Hill present a  night of kilted Shakespeare, Robin Hood, and more. Three course meal by Waiter’s Choice, one complimentary Scotch, and famous theatrical fight scenes performed in the round. Every seat is a front row seat to sword swinging action paired with traditional British culinary delights. Dress code is (optional) Scottish wear.  Doors open at 6pm, and show starts at 7 pm. This event is a benefit dinner for Historic Rural Hill and your support is appreciated. Purchasing a reservation covers the cost of one meal and a complimentary Scotch. A cash bar will be on site to provide scotch, beer, and wine for the dinner.

Aug. 14

5th Annual Gaga Ball Tournament

9 am at the Robbins Park gaga pit for a morning of friendly competition. Open to boys and girls ages 7-12.  Age divisions and brackets will be created post-registration based on the ages of the registered participants. Advance registration is encouraged. Online registration is open through Friday, Aug. 13, at 4 pm.

Aug. 15

Miss May’s Elegant Tea

2-4 pm. Honoring the late Miss May Davidson at Historic Rural Hill, Huntersville. This year’s theme is the Roaring 20’s. Tickets are $30 per adult and $15 per child. More info: www.ruralhill.com/events or  704-875-3113.
