Charlotte Symphony to perform free in LKN this summer

The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra  will perform June 24 at the Bailey Road Park Bandshell. Patriotic, classical and pops performances are followed by a fireworks display (weather permitting). There is no charge for this family-friendly event.

April 20. The Charlotte Symphony will perform five free community concerts in parks  including Duke Energy’s EnergyExplorium in Huntersville, Bailey Road Park in Cornelius and Village Park in Kannapolis.

Also, the Summer Pops series features four concerts at Symphony Park in Charlotte including the highly anticipated “Celebrate America!” with a spectacular fireworks display.

Free community concerts

– Stumptown Park in Matthews, Friday, June 9, 8:30 pm.

– Duke Energy’s EnergyExplorium at McGuire Nuclear Station in Huntersville, date to be announced.

– Bailey Road Park in Cornelius, Saturday, June 24, 8:30 pm. Gates open at 6 pm.

–Pineville Lake Park in Pineville, Thursday, June 29, 8:30 pm.

– Village Park in Kannapolis, Saturday, July 1, 8:30 pm.

Summer Pops at Symphony Park

The Charlotte Symphony’s iconic Summer Pops series returns to Symphony Park this summer with four concerts led by Resident Conductor Christopher James Lees.

This year, the CSO is offering general admission tickets in addition to a subscription package that includes premiumreserved space on the lawn for all four concerts.

–The Music of John Williams, Sunday, June 11.

–Swingin’ Jazz at the Park, Sunday, June 18.

–Family Night at the Movies, Sunday, June 25.

–Celebrate America!, Sunday, July 2.

Summer Pops concerts are held at Symphony Park at SouthPark Mall, 4400 Sharon Road. Gates open 5 pm. Prelude performances begin at 7 pm. Charlotte Symphony performances begin at 8:15 pm. Parking is free. Tickets for Summer Pops are on sale.
