Cara was born September 1, 1911 in Huntersville, NC, daughter of the late Millard Roy Holbrook and Leslie Monteith Holbrook. She was a graduate of Huntersville High School Class of 1929 and a graduate of Catawba College Class of 1934 with a degree in Elementary Education. Cara was a lifelong member of Huntersville Presbyterian Church and a member of Alexandriana Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She taught second and third grade classes for 42 years in Mecklenburg County and Newton-Conover City Schools in Catawba County. She retired in 1976.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1 PM on Wednesday, December 9 at Huntersville Presbyterian Church with Rev. David Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 12 to 11 prior to the funeral service.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Cara was preceded in death by sisters Ella Goodnight, Pattie Keepers, Edith Badgett and Josephine Hill and brothers, Harold and Charles Holbrook.
