Cabarrus real estate legend was matriarch, co-founder of Team Honeycutt

Oct. 5. Realtor Betty Honeycutt of Concord, recipient of the Business Today Lifetime Achievement Award, died Oct. 3 at St. Andrews Living Center.
Betty, who may be best known as the co-founder and matriarch of Team Honeycutt, will be missed by many professionally and personally. Her daughter, Diane Honeycutt, runs the agency.
Team Honeycutt was the first real estate team in Cabarrus County. Her career spans over 55 years; it started in Cheraw, where they moved when her husband, Ed, got his contractor’s license and she sold the homes he built.
In 1978 she became a licensed Realtor in North Carolina.
Betty has received numerous awards over the years. In 2015, she was a recipient of the Business Today Lifetime Achievement Award. After joining the Allen Tate Co., Betty was named the recipient of the Barbara Tate Legendary Service Award. And in 2018 she received the first-ever Cabarrus County Association of Realtors Lifetime Achievement Award.

The service for Betty will be 3 pm Sunday, Oct. 9, at Central United Methodist Church, 30 Union St. N, Concord. A reception will follow.
