By Jason Benavides – Nashville artist and Lake Norman native Brooke Lee has been busy making a name for herself. Tonight she’ll go from the Boatyard Lake Norman stage in Cornelius to an international one, starring in a new Chevrolet commercial airing during the opening ceremony of the 2026 Olympic Winter Games on NBC.

The self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie may not be ready for Olympic snowboarding, but she is showing no signs of fear while sitting on top of the world.

“I don’t know how to snowboard yet,” she said. “Right now, I’d probably just be the girl falling down the mountain, but (snowboarding) is definitely on my bucket list.”

Perfectly suited project

Chevrolet is celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a revival of its iconic “See the USA in Your Chevrolet” campaign, featuring Lee. The project moved quickly after Lee came aboard in December and was described as an “all-hands-on-deck experience.”

“I’ve been building a relationship with Chevy for a few years now, and I’ve always felt aligned with what they represent — adventure, storytelling and connection to the road,” she said.

The commercial pays tribute to the original 1964 spot and opens with Lee alone atop the iconic Castle Rock in Utah, accompanied only by a guitar and a Silverado. See the commercial here.

“It’s not every day Chevy flies you by helicopter to the top of Castle Rock (400 feet) on your birthday — definitely one of the most special days I’ve ever had,” she said.

After the sweeping opening visuals of Utah’s vast countryside, Lee’s country-rasp vocals lead into a catchy journey across the country. Lee’s own grandparents, along with a generation of Americans, grew up with the original song made famous by Dinah Shore.

“I had the honor of putting my own spin on the iconic ‘See the USA in Your Chevrolet,’” she said. “I pulled from my own excitement around travel and exploring new places across the country.”

Debuting during the Olympic Winter Games, the Chevrolet spot is part of a larger campaign celebrating America’s semiquincentennial that will roll out throughout the year. While no additional partnerships have been confirmed, Lee said she has developed a growing relationship with Chevrolet that has become a meaningful part of her story.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the support they’ve shown me.”

One more time, with feeling

Amid the busiest season of her career, Lee recently released the new single “Burn to Black,” the lead track from her forthcoming EP and her first release of 2026. The song’s honest portrayal of first love and heartbreak resonated with fans of Lee’s live shows even before its official release.

Lee’s personal storytelling approach is evident across her catalog, whether in a commercial jingle that takes listeners on a road trip or in her new single reflecting on love, loss and healing. She called it “one of the most vulnerable songs” she has released so far.

“I don’t have many breakup songs in my catalog, but (‘Burn to Black’) came from navigating my first real heartbreak and figuring out how to move forward afterward,” she said.

Lee’s next chapter continues with the release of her EP, “Desert Darling,” available everywhere April 17.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how the year unfolds,” she added.

Showtime

Willie Nelson, Lukas Nelson and Gavin DeGraw are among the artists who have recognized Brooke Lee’s musical talent and flair for live performance.

Lee most recently performed at Boatyard Lake Norman in December, where her high-energy show and commanding stage presence reinforced her reputation as a must-see live act. A full list of upcoming shows is available online.

She is currently on tour with South Carolina-based rock band NEEDTOBREATHE, and fans can “expect some headlining show announcements soon.”

Balancing songwriting, live performance and now starring in national commercials might seem daunting, but Lee said it is exactly what she has been working toward. Support from family and fans has helped keep her grounded — whether atop a mountain or a 400-foot rock.

“I’m really thankful to have an incredible team helping me stay organized, but I’m also trying to stay present and soak everything in,” she said.
