Galway Hooker management company taking over Boat Yard Eats

July 27. By Dave Vieser. The new operator of Boat Yard Eats, the indoor/outdoor music venue at the intersection of Statesville and Westmoreland, will change the name to Boatyard Lake Norman.

Bouk Management also manages Galway Hooker in Kenton Place.  The purchase price was not disclosed.

Bouk Management owner Chris Boukedes said he will ask permission from the town to erect a sign on or near the building with information on upcoming acts.

“We need a legendary marquee sign so we can message the community and become a staple in the community,” he said.  “I envision something that people will know far and wide, but show class, history and, most of all, quality.”

The previous operator, David Stockwell, used a small truck parked on Statesville Road to highlight upcoming performers.

Stockwell bought the 3.6 acre site for $1.7 million in 2016.

Before Stockwell purchased the site, the location was occupied by an old boat dealership. It had been closed for many years.
