Nov. 4. As Veterans Day approaches, Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram has partnered with Purple Heart Homes on a tiny house that will be used as either a transitional home or a full-time residence for a veteran.

The public is invited to tour the tiny home and learn about what Purple Heart Homes and other groups do for veterans at a special event Saturday, Nov. 6 at Carolina Custom, 20310 Chartwell Center Drive from 10 am to noon.

Precise counts are hard to come by, but it is estimated that more than 40,000 US veterans are homeless on any given night. Purple Heart Homes has been providing housing solutions for service-connected disabled and aging veterans since 2008.
