Big Day at the Lake aiming for July 24

March 31. Big Day at the Lake looks like it will be back this summer—July 24 to be exact, but somewhat streamlined.

The event, which supports Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas, brings Boat Hosts and at-risk children together for a fun day on Lake Norman.

The traditional picnic for 600 or more participants at the Energy Explorium will not be held due to coronavirus concerns. Big Day at the Lake was cancelled last year.

Supported by Cornelius Today and Business Today for 17 years, the event has brought literally thousands of people and children together for swimming, tubing and fellowship.

A Harvard University study ranked Charlotte last in terms of economic upward mobility among the 50 largest US metro areas.
