Betty Helms Sides McCachern, 85, of Huntersville, NC passed away peacefully at her home on August 20, 2016.  Betty was born September 28, 1930, in Concord, NC to the late Jernie and Nola Helms Sides. She was a graduate of Concord High School, Class of 1948.  Betty loved her husband,children, grandchildren and her dogs.  She also  enjoyed spending time gardening, quilting and needle work.

Along with her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 62years, Jack G. McCachern; son, Keith McCachern; brother, B. Max Sides; and step-mother, Ophelia Sides.

Betty is survived by her loving family; daughters, Patti Lane of Huntersville, Mary Shaw and her husband David of Huntersville; sons, David McCachern and his wife Mary of Sherrills Ford, Steven McCachern and his wife Kendra of Mooresville; grandsons, Jackson Lane, Nathan Lane, David Shaw, Jr., Alex Lane, Michael Shaw, Evan McCachern and Seth McCachern; brother, Ronald Sides; sisters, Pat Propst, and Deane Stokes.  She is also survived by her dear friend Brenda Echege.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 10 am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home with Rev.
