Nov. 21. New all-terrain wheelchairs (ATWs) at the Northern Regional Recreation Center on Old Statesville Road provide greater access to trails and other outdoor environments. You can reserve an ATW once a day, Monday through Friday, for up to three hours per day.

Known as “The Rig,” the wheelchairs are designed to navigate a wide range of terrains you would typically find on greenways or in nature preserves.

They require core strength to operate.
