April 6. Lake Norman Humane, 2106 Charlotte Hwy., Mooresville, reports an alarming uptick of emaciated animals entering its care in recent months.

Lake Norman Humane asks that if you are a pet owner in need of food for your cat or dog, please visit the shelter food bank. The food bank is open noon-6 pm Wednesdays. A valid ID is required.

If you would like to support the food bank, food donations can be dropped off anytime and left on the covered benches by the front door if outside of business hours,  which are noon-6pm Tuesday – Friday  and noon-4 pm Saturday.
