Parks Roundup: Recreation Survey, Sports Deadlines

The Town of Cornelius Parks and Recreation Department is asking residents to weigh in on recreation programs and activities through a brief survey to help guide future offerings.
The two-minute survey asks households which programs they currently enjoy, what they would like to see more of and what new activities they would like the town to offer.
Responses will help the town plan recreation opportunities that reflect community interests and needs. Participants will be entered for a chance to win prizes, including VIP event passes, gift cards and department merchandise.
The survey is open only to Cornelius residents, with one response allowed per household.
Registration deadlines
Registration for Cornelius-Davidson Youth Basketball closes Nov. 1. The program offers divisions for ages 5-14, with games and practices held in Cornelius and Davidson.
Registration costs $120 for residents ages 5-6 and $145 for ages 7-14.
Registration for Polar Bear Flag Football opens Nov. 2. The program will include a girls middle school division for the first time.
The town says the noncontact league is designed to provide a fun environment for players to learn football fundamentals, develop individual skills, practice teamwork and understand game strategies.
