Walk a terrifying 300-acre haunted outdoor trail as it kicks off its month-long run. Best for adults and teens ages 12+. Reservations required. Ticket prices vary.

Saturday

Carolina Renaissance Festival

9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

The annual medieval celebration begins its eight-weekend run in Huntersville with jousting, falconry, music, dance, magic and more. Ticket prices vary.

Crafty Social Picnic
Robbins Park (exact location sent to ticket buyers)
2-4 p.m.

Women’s casual picnic includes custom coloring, group games, drinks, and personal charcuterie cups. Tickets $25 each.

Baddest Street Cars of the Carolinas
Mooresville Dragway
Gates open 4:30 p.m, racing 6-11 p.m.

Grassroots street car racing featuring the 704 Outlaws and 5.30 Outlaws classes with a guaranteed $6,000 purse. Tickets $20 each; kids 12 and under free.

Catawba Riversweep

9 a.m.-noon

Annual Catawba-Wateree River Basin gathering to clean waterways. Registration is closed but walk-up volunteers are still needed at the Pinnacle Access Area in Mooresville and the Beatties Ford Access in Denver.
