By Ryan Moxon — Hough defeated West Mecklenburg on the road Friday night 44-0 in another game dominated by the Hough defense that also featured a strong performance by running back Jamarion Morrison.

Morrison opened the scoring midway through the first quarter with a goal-line rushing touchdown after Hough survived a near interception in the red zone.

The second touchdown, with 3:16 remaining in the first quarter, was scored on a quarterback keeper by Ethan Royal. Royal set up the touchdown with a 38-yard reception after he connected with wide receiver Jahmere Anderson, who took the ball to the 2-yard line.

Hough added 23 points in the second quarter, including another rushing touchdown by Morrison, a 60-yard punt return by Sincere Day and a 15-yard touchdown reception by Mason Pearsall-Brown.

The Hough defense added two points on a quarterback fumble and near recovery that resulted in a West Mecklenburg safety.

The Huskies ended the game with a 12-yard rushing touchdown by Morrison, set up by a 20-yard reception from backup quarterback Christian Druzbik to Lincoln Brim.

The 6-0 Huskies travel to Garinger next Friday to take on the 2-3 Wildcats. Garinger has struggled to contain their opponents on defense this season but allowed only 14 points Friday night in a 15-14 win against Rocky River.
