Rep. Moore Hosting Passport Fair

Congressman Tim Moore, R-N.C. will host a passport fair with the U.S. Department of State on Thursday, Aug. 13, giving residents on-site help applying for or renewing passports.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall’s Assembly Room. It’s part of a larger three-day passport fair Moore’s office is holding across North Carolina’s 14th Congressional District.

Unlike applying online or by mail, an in-person fair lets residents have their documents reviewed on the spot by State Department staff, catching errors early and giving applications routed through a congressional office a chance at expedited handling.

“It’s easier for folks to apply for a new passport or renew an existing one,” Moore said in a statement. “This fair is a great opportunity to complete the passport application process with on-site assistance from my office and the U.S. Department of State.”

Attendees are asked to bring an unsigned passport application form and required documents listed at travel.state.gov/passportforms; a check or money order payable to the U.S. Department of State (debit and credit cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay and Samsung Pay, are also accepted); proof of identification and a photocopy; a passport photo; and certified evidence of U.S. citizenship, along with a photocopy.

Appointments can be scheduled online. If no appointments are available drop-ins are also welcome.
