Lane Closures Coming in Two Areas

By Dave Vieser — Drivers should expect intermittent lane closures in two areas of town over the next few weeks.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation has an ongoing occasional lane closure on Westmoreland Road near the Alexander Farms development and the planned roundabout at Eagle Ridge Way Lane.

NCDOT advises motorists to plan for possible delays and slowdowns in the work zone and allow extra travel time when driving through the area. Motorists also should consider alternate routes.

NCDOT will also close a lane on West Catawba Avenue traveling westbound between Torrence Chapel Road and One Norman Blvd., across from Bojangles and Cook Out, as crews complete storm drain improvements.

Daytime closures are scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4, and Wednesday, Aug. 5. Nighttime closures are scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 9, Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12.
