Paws Life Dog Resort & Spa, a new dog grooming, boarding and daycare business, has opened in Cornelius under owner Kayla Shaw, who brings more than 25 years of industry experience.

Shaw, who worked at the location for years when it operated as PURRfect Paws, said the new business is built around providing individualized care for each dog, offering boarding, daycare, exercise and socialization for pets whose owners are away or simply looking for a day of play.

Shaw operates the business with a team of staff members. She said the woman-owned business aims to serve the Cornelius community with an emphasis on personalized attention.

Services include grooming, daycare and overnight boarding. A half-day of daycare costs $22, while a full day costs $36. Overnight boarding ranges from $45 to $55, depending on the dog’s size. Discounts are available for multiple pets.

Shaw’s Shih Tzu, Lulu, also has a role at the business, serving as its “director of first impressions.”

Paws Life is open and accepting new clients.
