Boys lacrosse: Hough defeated Lake Norman 16-7 in a heated rivalry game, marking the Huskies’ first victory in the matchup since 2022. Junior attackman Grady Cinotti led all scorers with six goals, while sophomore attackman Noah Sheridan added four and junior midfielder Cooper Show scored three. Junior goalie Chubs Slater recorded 17 saves, and senior defender Bryson Armstrong had four takeaways.
Hough also defeated Ballantyne Ridge this week to improve to 15-3 on the season and will wrap up the regular season next week against Providence and Ardrey Kell.
Baseball: Hough closed the regular season with an 11-7 win over Hopewell. As the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, Hough defeated South Mecklenburg 16-8 and Myers Park last night 10-2. The 17-7 Huskies now await playoff seeding.
Boys tennis: Hough went 1-1, defeating West Forsyth 6-0 and losing to Northwest Guilford 5-1 on the road. The 8A West individual regionals are scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
Boys volleyball: Hough fell to West Forsyth 3-0 and beat South Iredell 3-0 last night to finish the regular season with a mark of 15-4.
Girls flag football: Hough lost to Hopewell 7-6. The team has two games remaining, against Ardrey Kell and Mallard Creek.
Girls soccer: Hough won both road matches this week, defeating Garinger 10-0 and South Mecklenburg 3-1. Senior Riley Pickels recorded 10 saves against South Mecklenburg. The team plays Myers Park tonight at home and concludes the regular season next week at home against Hopewell.
Softball: Hough posted three home shutouts, beating Hopewell 6-0 in its regular-season finale, Myers Park 7-0 in the conference semifinal and South Mecklenburg last night 15-0.
