Consignment Stores Merge Under New Brand
Two longtime furniture consignment stores in Cornelius will merge next month under a new name, creating what the owner calls a one-stop destination for pre-owned home furnishings.
Consign On A Dime and Showplace 28 will consolidate operations March 24 as Consign at 28, operating from the current Showplace 28 location in Shops on the Green on Torrence Chapel Road.
Heather Kline, who owns both stores, said the merger combines the inventory and customer bases of each shop, offering a wider selection and faster turnover for consignors.
“This merger is about bringing the best of both worlds together,” Kline said in a statement. “We are creating a new chapter for sustainable, stylish home furnishings in our community.”
The consolidated store will expand its hours, remaining open until 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. It will be closed Sundays and Mondays and open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Existing consignment agreements with both stores will be honored under the new brand, which will include a new logo and website.
The showroom will stock a range of styles, from vintage to contemporary pieces, according to the announcement.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for May 7, featuring promotions for customers.
