The Davidson College women’s basketball team will hold a free clinic before its game Saturday in celebration of National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
The clinic will run from noon to 12:45 p.m. before the team’s 1 p.m. game against the Richmond Spiders. Richmond is 10-1 in Atlantic 10 play and tied for second. Davidson is tied for fourth with Loyola at 8-5. The Wildcats are 16-10 overall and are led in scoring by senior guard Charlise Dunn of Australia.
The event includes free admission to the game for children and parents, player autographs and more.
Participation is open to girls in kindergarten through eighth grade.
The game’s theme is Play4Kay Pink Out. Play4Kay is a fundraising initiative benefiting the nonprofit founded in honor of the late Hall of Fame women’s college basketball coach Kay Yow.
