Application now open for free Meck Pre-K

Meck Pre-K, a free pre-kindergarten program open to all 4-year-old children in Mecklenburg County, is now accepting applications for the 2026-27 school year.

Mecklenburg County partners with existing child care facilities to provide Pre-K services. In North Mecklenburg, there are three locations, all in Huntersville: Cadence Academy on Eastfield Road, Cadence Academy on Sedgebrook Lane, KinderCare on Statesville Road and The Sunshine House on Reese Boulevard.

All children in Mecklenburg County who will be 4 years old on or before Aug. 31, 2026, are eligible.
