Jan. 19 – One of the great things about living in North Carolina is the anticipation of a snow day. One of the drawbacks is reaching the midpoint of winter without any snow. Maybe that changes this weekend.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 48. West wind 5 to 9 mph. Tonight mostly clear, with a low around 20. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light north after midnight.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 44. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Tuesday night mostly clear, with a low around 22. Light and variable wind.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 46. Calm wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Wednesday night a 20 percent chance of rain after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 56. Thursday night mostly clear, with a low around 30.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 49. Friday night a 30 percent chance of rain after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Weekend: Chance or rain and snow.
