Lane closures coming on West Catawba

Jan. 15. Drivers on West Catawba Avenue should expect delays in the coming days as construction wraps up near a new apartment development.

Road work is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with crews milling asphalt in front of the apartments Friday and repaving the roadway Saturday. The work zone is between Nantz Road and H.M. Junker Drive.

Work is expected to take place for much of each day. Friday’s work is planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday’s paving cannot begin until temperatures reach the 40s, which is forecast for early afternoon.

West Catawba Avenue will remain open, but lane closures and traffic flaggers are expected to cause traffic backups.
