Elaine Powell hosting District 1 Community Meeting

Jan. 22 – Commissioner Elaine Powell, who represents District 1 in Mecklenburg County, will hold a community meeting with constituents tonight at the Northern Regional Recreation Center in Cornelius. District 1 consists of the towns of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville.

The agenda includes updates on capital projects and departmental programs, along with opportunities for feedback and questions. Powell will present the county’s top four budget priorities affecting north Mecklenburg residents: affordable housing, green space for parks, senior living and mental health. She also will provide updates on medical response times and the newly expanded North Mecklenburg Recycling Center.

County staff will be on hand to answer questions at the end of the session.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Northern Regional Recreation Center on Old Statesville Road in Cornelius.
