Nov. 26. Catawba Avenue will be closed Saturday, Nov. 29, from 1 to 8:30 p.m. for the annual Light Up Cornelius tree-lighting event.

The closure will extend from Mulberry Street to Oak Street. Businesses near Food Lion will remain accessible during the event.

Vehicles turning west onto Catawba from Main Street will be routed through the town hall parking lot and back onto Catawba. Vehicles traveling east will be detoured south on Meridian Street and east on Gem Street.
