Huskies host South Meck tonight for homecoming

Oct. 17. South Meck travels north to Hough tonight to face the undefeated Huskies, who are looking to start the season 8-0 on homecoming weekend.

The Sabres are led by senior running back Quinn Rucker, who averages 106 yards rushing and another 46 yards receiving per game. The team, playing almost an entire season of road games because of construction delays during its stadium renovations, has embraced the challenge—adopting the motto Anybody. Anytime. Anywhere.

South Meck has been dominant this season against mostly inferior opponents. The Sabres have faced just two teams with winning records—losing 37-14 to Charlotte Catholic and winning 16-13 against 2A division Community School of Davidson.

Hough and South Meck are part of a three-way tie atop the Greater Charlotte 7A/8A Conference, meaning the winner will likely move into a tie at 3-0 with Myers Park, which plays 0-7 West Meck tonight. Hough will face Myers Park next week in Charlotte.

Tickets cost $8 on the Home Team app and the game will be live streamed on NFHS Network.
