Weather: Rain to start the week; breezy and 70s to end it

Sept. 29. There are no current watches or warnings on the East coast for Tropical Storm Imelda or Hurricane Humberto as both are forecast to stay far out in the Atlantic. After a hot, humid stretch last week are we finally settling into fall? The leaves in the mountains say yes.

Today: Showers. High near 72. Northeast wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Tonight more showers likely with a low around 64. North northeast wind 7 to 9 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Tuesday: 30 percent chance of morning showers. Patchy fog. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 72. North northeast wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Tuesday night mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. North northeast wind 6 to 8 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 76. Northeast wind 8 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Wednesday night mostly clear, with a low around 52.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 70 and a low around 51.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 71 and a low around 51.

Weekend: Highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
