Sept. 5. There’s nothing better than when the seasons respect the calendar. Winter sweater weather wraps up by March. The summer humidity doesn’t show up until late May. Fall temperatures dot the forecast around Labor Day, before the fall air settles in for the start of the NFL season.
The Panthers head down to Jacksonville for a 1 p.m. Week One kickoff and temps in the 90s. We’ll settle for mid-70s and the back porch TV on Sunday afternoon.
Today: Sunny, with a high near 90. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Tonight mostly clear, with a low around 68. Light south southwest wind.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming southwest 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Saturday night mostly cloudy, with a low around 66.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. Sunday night partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
Next week: No rain currently in the forecast. Highs in the mid-to-high 70s and lows in the 50s.
