Remember the Scottish bard
The author of Auld Lang Zyne and other cherished Scottish works died 225 years ago but Robert Burns is still remembered. His birthday Jan. 25, 1759 will be commemorated at a traditional Scottish supper at Historic Rural Hill, the Davidson family plantation in Huntersville. The dinner will include a silent auction as well as a cash bar with beer, wine and Scotch whisky.
The event will feature a three-course dinner and one free pour of Scotch whisky for a toast.The night will also feature live music from a piper and a fiddler. Tickets are $65 and must be purchased by Jan. 22. More info: 704-875-3113 or visit http://www.ruralhill.net
