This evening edition of Connecting Cornelius will be a networking event with a food truck from Barley Market and beer from Eleven Lakes Brewing. Come out and talk with your mayor, town commissioners and town staff. 6:30 p.m. at Cornelius Town Hall.

The Davidson Community Players present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged),” an irreverent, fast-paced romp through all 37 of the Bard’s plays. March 28-April 7 at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson.

Lake Norman Covekeepers

Mystery Musical

The Davidson College Symphony Orchestra and Department of Theatre present “The Mystery of Edwin Drood,” an interactive musical based on Charles Dickens’s unfinished novel. March 29-31 and April 5-7 in Duke Family Performance Hall at Davidson College.

Spring Literary Festival

Annual Doris Betts Spring Literary Festival will have author readings, writing workshops and an open mic session. 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Mitchell Community College Mooresville campus.

Alder Trail Hike

Join a ranger for a one-hour guided nature hike through the upland forests to look for wildflowers that are starting to bloom and animals that are active during the early spring. The Friends of Lake Norman State Park will hold their annual meeting following the hike. 9 a.m. at Lake Norman State Park in Troutman.

Battle of the Badges

Members of the Huntersville Police Department, Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office and local EMS will square off to collect the most blood donations for Community Blood Center of the Carolinas. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Birkdale Village in Huntersville.

Summer Concert Series
