July 27. Charlotte’s newest hotel opens Aug. 17 complete with three new destination dining concepts and a rooftop bar and pool perfect for your next staycation. JW Marriott’s first property in the Carolinas has 381 rooms in the heart of Uptown at Stonewall and College streets. Billed as an urban retreat, the hotel has an oyster bar, a full-service spa and, if you’re into light fixtures, “lavish custom chandeliers inspired by patterns” Queen Charlotte wore back in the day. Dean’s Italian Steakhouse, also opening Aug. 17, has homemade pastas and classic steaks.
