2021 National Police Week honors fallen officers

National Police Week this year is May 9 – May 15. During this week, Cornelius Police honor the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation that designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as Police Week. National Police Week has grown to a series of events that attract thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers to Washington, D.C., annully, this year in October.

The Cornelius Police Department says thank you to the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and thank you to those who continue to protect and serve our communities.
