2 Scout trailers stolen from Bethel Presbyterian parking lot

Scouts from Troop 72 go on frequent trips and rely on the trailers for gear

Feb. 9. Two trailers—valued at roughly $10,000—have been stolen from the Boy Scouts at Bethel Presbyterian Church.

No leads

“We believe the trailers went missing between Wednesday Jan. 11 and Sunday Jan. 15,” said Troop 72 Scoutmaster Charlie Rittenberry, explaining that Cornelius Police have canvassed the area to no avail.

Both trailers are white, single-axle 6-foot by 12-foot units. One is a Diamond Cargo and the other is a Cargomate. The trailers are used to haul supplies for campouts and outings on a regular basis. Both had trailer locks on the tongues.

The Pack 72 trailer had roughly $1,000 of cooking supplies and a large grill.
